Celebrants write and deliver personalised ceremonies for life’s important events - weddings, funerals, naming ceremonies, vow renewals and more.

Celebrant ceremonies are free from restrictions. Anything is possible and you can hold your ceremony wherever, whenever. A celebrant’s role is to help people celebrate or commemorate life’s milestones in a way that reflects their personal beliefs, values and stories, allowing for creativity and individuality.

At a celebrant led ceremony, personalisation is key and celebrants ensure that no two ceremonies are ever the
same!

Currently, in the UK, celebrants can’t legally marry couples. This just means you’ll need to book in to the Registry Office to do the ‘paperwork’ to make your marriage legally binding. This is a simple ceremony where you’ll make the required legal declarations and do your official signing. You will only need yourselves, two witnesses and the registrars for this and you can leave the ring exchange, vows and essentially all the special and fun stuff for your celebrant ceremony.

Most couples do this the day before (or week before) their ceremony.

Registrars are only able to deliver ceremonies in a licenced venue. This means that there are limitations to where and when these ceremonies can take place. The ceremony wording is fixed legal wording and this can’t be altered or amended.

Religious elements can’t be included in a ceremony delivered by a registrar and in most cases, you won’t meet the registrar delivering the ceremony until the day.

A ceremony delivered by a registrar is legally binding, so you leave the ceremony married by law.

Absolutely. Celebrants have no restrictions on the content they can include within a ceremony. This means if you have a faith and would like any religious or cultural content included in your ceremony then we absolutely can. If this is you, let’s chat about this more to include the bits that are important to you in your day.

Ideally yes! Personally, I like to try and meet face to face with my couples before the wedding, but of course, I understand this isn’t always possible.
We will certainly meet via video call and will look at the logistics of meeting face to face too. As part of my package, I offer a face to face meeting at your venue.

I can’t guarantee a rehearsal is always possible but if you know you’d like one, let’s have a chat. If your rehearsal is the night before the wedding, there may be an additional cost for accommodation but I will be able to confirm this on a case-by-case basis.

I am based in Yorkshire and cover the North of England and beyond. I am happy to travel, so please do get in touch if you’re the ‘beyond’.

Absolutely! This is the beauty of a celebrant led ceremony. It can involve whatever is important to you, traditions, rituals, stories, songs, and readings. We will build your ceremony from scratch so that it is completely yours.

One of the biggest advantages of a celebrant led wedding is the flexibility to hold your ceremony at any location meaningful to you, rather than being restricted to licensed venues.

As long as you have permission to use that space for your event, we can hold the ceremony there! This opens up a whole host of possibilities to suit you. From outdoor locations to private homes. Unique spaces such as barns, warehouses, art galleries, to unlicenced venues such as castles and marquees.

And don’t forget – many people choose a celebrant led wedding at licenced venues too as the ceremony offers so much more creativity, flexibility and personality than that delivered by a Registrar.

Yes! Writing and sharing vows with your partner is such an intimate and beautiful thing to do. For some, it can feel daunting, and many people aren’t sure where to start - so I am on hand to help.

Yes, you absolutely can – and it’s often one of my favourite parts of the ceremonies I deliver. Seeing those you love chip in and share their love creates connection and makes for truly memorable moments. Your ceremony can be as 'all hands on deck' as you like, with family and friends taking part through readings, rituals, or music.

Of course, this isn’t for everyone and if you prefer to keep things intimate, it can simply be about the two of you. It’s completely up to you, and we’ll work together to make sure it feels just right for your day.

Your ceremony is completely personalised so it differs from couple to couple. Typically, a ceremony lasts somewhere between 20 and 45 minutes. If it’s very simple and intimate it may be on the shorter side. Whereas if you know you want to incorporate readings, songs, rituals, stories and other elements, it may be a little longer.

If you have a specific length in mind, we can absolutely work to this when crafting the ceremony.

Often, in the world of weddings, suppliers and venues work far in advance. With this in mind it’s good to get in touch with me as soon as you are able. This way I can confirm if I have your date free, .and hopefully, we can get you in my diary!

I only ever book one wedding per day, so once I’m booked my availability for that day goes. With this in mind, it’s good to get booked in as soon as you can.

Don’t panic. I never book two ceremonies on the same day so if timings are running behind - which they do from time to time! - there is no pressure from my side.

Hidden costs are never fun and I aim to be very transparent about my pricing. If you have any questions, please don’t shy away from asking. Travel is included within a 40-mile radius of LS29 postcode and additional mileage is charged at 45 pence per mile. This is applied to any meetings, rehearsals and the ceremony itself though there is no obligation for face-to-face meetings and always the option for us to meet in the middle if this suits you best.

Any additional costs will be discussed before you commit to booking so there are no nasty surprises.
