Let the good times roll
A glass full to the brim kind of person
Born and bred in Wrexham, North Wales, I hopped from one gorgeous part of the world to another and now call Yorkshire ‘home’. I live with my husband and two dogs, Nellie (our beautifully awkward, laugh-a-minute, white whippet) and Edie (our completely bonkers, more-intelligent-than-she-makes-out, scruffy lurcher) and we lead a busy yet cosy life in our village, with the Dales on our doorstep.
I’m a glass full to the brim kind of person, I get that from my mum. I like life to be vibrant and varied. I lean into the depth of life and really love to feel all the emotions, to sit with them and revel in them. I’ve often been described as ‘unflappable’, which is a funny adjective but I think I can often find calm amidst the chaos.
Some of life’s joys…
Finally, an ‘about me’ needs some stuff about what I like and how I like to spend my time. So here goes. Top of the list is being out and about in nature. Sun on my face, wind in my hair... that kind of thing. I used to work in wine, and I still very much appreciate a great glass. Champagne is my favourite but I’m aware that makes me sound a little high maintenance!
I love to move and be active. Football is my spectator sport, and Wrexham is my team. I get that from my dad. I love to sing in a choir, there’s no better feeling than standing with others and belting it out. That’s a short summary, but hopefully just the start of getting to know one another.
What's important to me...
Before I trained as a celebrant, I worked in the world of charity and fundraising. These years of my life were extremely affirmative, working alongside such inspiring people and fighting day in day out to give people with a terminal illness the most dignified and full end of life possible. To give the final chapter the respect it deserves and be there for loved ones left behind. Today, I carry this with me as a personal and professional goal.
